Terms of Use

1. Nature of the Application

This application is a media player designed to operate exclusively with user-supplied Xtream-based playlists and endpoints.

It does not provide, host, stream, sell, or distribute television channels, movies, series, or any other audiovisual media content.

The application contains no playable media content of its own.

2. User-Supplied Content Only

All media content accessed or played through the application is supplied exclusively by the user via third-party Xtream-based playlists or services. The application does not support or read any other media source formats.

The developer and distributor do not control, verify, endorse, or maintain any user-supplied streams, playlists, or media sources.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that they have the legal right to access and use any content added to the application.

3. Metadata Usage and Architecture

The application includes media metadata for identification and organizational purposes only.

Any metadata bundled with or retrieved by the application is:

• Non-functional and inaccessible until a user supplies their own media playlist or stream
• Not exposed, browsable, or usable as a standalone catalog
• Used solely to map, normalize, and identify user-provided streams via third-party identifiers (such as TMDB IDs)

The application does not expose, surface, or enable access to media metadata independently of user-provided content and does not present a discoverable or curated media library.

Metadata may be updated or supplemented by live queries to third-party services after user playlist import.

4. Third-Party Metadata Services

The application may optionally integrate with third-party services if the user provides their own API credentials:

• The Movie Database (TMDB) for media information and artwork — requires user's own TMDB API key
• OpenSubtitles for subtitle discovery — requires user's own OpenSubtitles API key

MACAAL does not provide, distribute, or bundle API keys for these services. Users must obtain their own keys directly from the respective services. These integrations are used solely to retrieve descriptive metadata related to user-provided media sources.

The application:

• Does not host, store, or distribute video or audio content from these services
• Does not modify or claim ownership of third-party metadata
• Is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by any content owner or broadcaster

5. TMDB Attribution

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

All trademarks, images, and metadata are the property of their respective owners.

6. No Endorsement or Affiliation

The developer and distributor are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any IPTV provider, content distributor, broadcaster, or rights holder.

References to media titles, artwork, or descriptions do not imply that such content is available, licensed, or provided by the application.

7. User Responsibility and Lawful Use

By using this application, you agree that:

• You will use the application only with content you are legally authorized to access
• You will not use the application for unlawful purposes, including copyright infringement
• You accept full responsibility for any content accessed through user-supplied sources

8. License

Purchasing a MACAAL license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the MACAAL Xtream IPTV Media Player on one Samsung Smart TV device.

The license is bound to a single device via its unique device identifier (DUID). You may not redistribute, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or modify the application.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer and distributor shall not be liable for:

• The content accessed, streamed, or displayed by users
• Copyright infringement or other legal claims arising from user-supplied media sources
• Any damages resulting from the use or misuse of third-party content or services

10. Rights Holder Notice

If you are a rights holder and believe that content accessed through this application infringes your rights, please note that the application does not host or distribute such content. Any concerns should be directed to the provider of the media source in question.
